And...
A Finish! (original post here) Here's where I get wordy....oops! =) I wanted to line quilt this and used the blue tape down the center of each row. This was a first experience for me...it worked okay, but as it's not very sticky, it wasn't always staying where I wanted it too. In the end I used some pins to keep it still. Then I quilted on both sides of that tape. I also quilted on both sides of the seams. I'm happy with the outcome. My backing was from Joann Fabric's Clearance at $2 a yard(I know some of you don't like their fabric, but honestly, I find a LOT of nice thick cotton on the clearance racks) and I used Kona in Grey for the binding, which I machine stitched...I prefer this method for speed. The quilt was washed and dried, as I used basting spray and you know how that smells. =)
Here's a close up of the quilting along the back.
Happy Wednesday! God bless!

LOL love the wordless Wednesday!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat hamster pic is so cute, I remember ours, also I think that quilt is nice :)
Yay for a finish!
ReplyDeleteI get fabric at Joanns also. Some people are all for only using quilt store fabric, but my budget just can't afford that! So to Joanns I sometimes go! It's a dirty secret! :D
So nice! Did you hand quilt it? I have never tried tape. I use washable crayola markers to mark out my quilting lines and it works great.
ReplyDeleteAww, your little guy looks very happy!
ReplyDeleteI really like that quilt and your quilting turned out very nice. I like a lot of fabric at JoAnn's but I'm not quilting so that might be the difference.
LOL... too cute! :) The quilt turned out beautifully Anita. I love the patterns and colors you used!
ReplyDeleteSo precious. What I wouldn't do to have my kids little again with a little hamster loose in their room.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt too. Very pretty colors.
Hugs & JOY
